BIG NEWS: I have made the difficult decision to leave Rock+Pop ‘Fun band of the century’- Angel Up Front. I have had a hilarious 18 months alongside Alan, Ben and Stuart and have learnt an invaluable amount about stage presence, getting the crowds involved and dealing with those tricky drunk people… but I would like to focus all of my attention and Fri/Sat evenings to gigging with The Rosa Gray Band. Or as Alan so beautifully calls it ‘The Jazz Pixies’. So Angel Up Front are currently on the hunt for a new angel- do get in contact with them if you think you’re good enough to play alongside these wonderful gents! I have my last few gigs with them this Month:
Friday 20th at The Cat and Wheel- Bristol 9pm
Saturday 21st at The Railway Tavern- Fishponds, Bristol 9pm
Friday 27th at The New Crown Inn- Bath 9pm
In Other News, my administration skills and love of spreadsheets is still going strong, in fact I am now working freelance with some great venues, bands and a wonderful charity called Time2Share.
I have recently taken over as social media lady and general events administrator at The SouthBank Club in Bedminster, where I successfully put together a fantastic Christmas Market with many stalls, musicians and customers and a SOLD OUT a NYE event which went down very well. #MarketingPro http://southbankclub.webs.com/
I am still also working with The Bristol Community Big Band as treasurer and marketing administrator. They’ve got some fabulous gigs coming up! #BristolJazzAndBluesFest http://bcbb.co.uk/bristol/
Over the past 6 months I have been working a few days a week at Time2Share. A really lovely charity that works with young disabled children and their families. They offer a befriending service, regular monthly social groups and many one-off special events/ day trips. http://time2share.org.uk/

Jazz The Two Of Us– The wonderful jazz duo featuring Mike Cooper on guitar and myself on vocals, is doing rather well in fact we had our year anniversary gig at The SouthBank’s Christmas Market in December. We have got lots of gigs booked in at The Blue Lagoon and various care homes over the next year. #GreatName
Sad News- I won’t be able to play my flute or my saxophone for at least the next year or so due to having hurt my wrists and tendons up both arms. Although I’ve never played tennis outside of school and only once when at university, I have what the physiotherapists are calling “Tennis Elbow”. This has been incredibly infuriating as I very much enjoy playing my instruments and has stumped my path of being a professional musician and have had to stop playing in various projects because of it. The good news is that I can still sing and nothing is going to stop me doing that- I can promise you! I’m currently doing regular daily exercises, but due to my tendons being extraordinarily weak it is going to take a long time before I will be able to do any substantial length of playing on an instrument again.
Winner News– Tomorrow I am off to Clifton Photographic Company for a 4 hour makeover and photoshoot .. that I won on the magical online land of Facebook! I’ve chosen 5 outfits, accessories, props and am one very very excited lady!
Thank you for reading my blog, I’ll be back with more news soon i’m sure!
Hey RoRo!! loving all the up dates, keep it up x
